The Shopping Edit #44 Summer's fade, autumn's rise
A curated edit of denim, knits, leather, and minis for the months ahead
Hi everyone, I hope your summer’s going well. Can you believe we’re already in mid-August? It feels crazy to me. This season flew by in a second. I’ve been so focused on working on my brand, The Hoarderie, that I barely noticed summer passing, but at least it was a really productive one.
Strangely enough, I’m excited for September. First of all, it’s my birthday on the 16th, and I’ve always loved that back-to-school energy. Living in the south of Italy makes it even better because summer doesn’t really end here until November, so I still get the sunshine. At the same time, I’m looking forward to traveling again. Milan is on the list, maybe a quick stop in New York, definitely Paris, and of course I can’t wait to finally wear autumn clothes.
Autumn is one of my favorite seasons, especially for style. You can start layering and get more creative with outfits, which is so much fun compared to summer when the goal is just to stay comfortable and cool. In the heat you don’t really think about styling, you just want something light and breezy.
So for this newsletter, I’ve put together a little selection of the pieces I’m most excited to wear for the season ahead. Think the perfect jacket, great denim, some cozy little knits, and yes, mini shorts. I love pairing them with loafers and socks, and I’ll wear them all the way through September and October until it’s just too cold to keep going. I’ve also picked a floaty blouse, a suede denim jacket, the ultimate belt bag—I’m obsessed with those right now—plus furry shoes, a knitted dress, a cardigan, and of course, leather pants.
